4/5 (Very Good)

Disclaimer: I received a copy of this book from the Author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Ada has lived a life close to her adoptive family and a life dedicated to helping those from her home country from a life of certain death.  She lives under the radar of the alliance to keep saving lives. Kay chose his path in life expecting to fight monsters and other world creatures. His first week on the job is much more than that. He finds himself with two murders in the alliance and dealing with magic. Can he handle these dealings? Will his father’s past come to haunt him or help him?
This was a pretty good book. About a quarter of the way through the action really picked up and kept you reading. It kept you guessing as to what was going to happen next and had you holding your breath a few times. The characters were fun to read and had a unique bond between one another. The description was well written and details were easy to understand and easy to close your eyes and picture what was going on.
The beginning of the book was kind of slow and hard to get into. As I mentioned above, it finally picked up and did so with a bang so I was glad that I kept on reading. The creatures/monsters in this book sounded incredible intriguing but I think in this specific area, there could have been a little better detail as they were semi fuzzy in my mind.
I do absolutely recommend this book to you. It’s a fast read once you get into the action as it really doesn’t slow down.

4/5 (Very Good)

Thanks & Happy Reading!
