4/5 (Very Good)

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Wow, this book packs some incredible detail with an incredibly full cast!
This story is very well written and incredibly detail oriented. I don’t think that you could read this book and come away and say that you couldn’t visualize the scenes or the people. There was some depth to the story line and it was very well thought out.
This was a longer story which I did enjoy. In some books that are part of a series, the story line is drawn out between multiple books when it could have been done in fewer books. This is definitely not the case with this author. She writes a full story in the first book of her series. It isn’t full of filler material but full of a deep story with a great background story building you up for the current story.
There was so much going on in this story and so much detail I couldn’t get fully engrossed in the book unless my house was quiet and it allowed me to get lost in the book. This is a good and bad thing. The good part is that detail and action make for a great story. The bad is that my house is rarely ever quiet with two kids, a dog, and a husband. I tried to read during the day and found myself often getting distracted or losing the story plot. When I was in quiet I was able to submerse myself into the story and really loved it.
I prefer a story that allows me to get lost no matter my surroundings, however, I wouldn’t discount this story or this author. She does great work!

Rating:: 4/5 (Very Good)

Thanks & Happy Reading!
