JAX (The Titan Series Book 11): By Cristin Harber
I've met Jax before this book, but I didn't like him. We first meet his character in Bishops Queen, and have a few other encounters in Locke and Key, but I didn't like him through all of it. He was such a jerk and I thought there was no way Cristin could turn my opinion of him around. But I WAS SO WRONG. She did.
She has developed this character so perfectly that I think he might be my favorite team member of all!!! **shhhhhh Don't tell Javier. Or Grayson. Or Bishop. ssshhhh!** When she brought his love interest in, I thought "No way." But I was wrong again. Jax and Seven are so perfect for each other!!! Like, I should really stop doubting little Miss Harber's wordsmithing skills. (not that I really do anyway, I stalk her too hard for that nonsense. )
Though this is the last book in the Titan series, it will stand alone just fine. You DO NOT have to read all of the other books first. JAX tells Jax and Sevens story perfectly, and doesn't confuse you with other characters backstories. Instead you get gentle introductions, which will make you want to go back and read them all, but it isn't necessary.
All of my usual warnings for romantic suspense still apply here; graphic bloodshed, steamy sexy times with a bad-ass tactical gear wearing alpha male, and a metric sh*t ton of naughty language. ;) The only extra one to add with this novel is heavy drinking and implied drug use.
Though I am a little sad that this may be the last "Titan" novel, I know this isn't the last of our favorite characters and I can't wait to see what else Harber has in store for us down the road. *coughs* vroom vroom. ;)
